I recently drove my parent's Chevy Cruze for about 3 days while my wife's car was in the shop. Sweet Jesus is the button layout aggravating or what...

Yeah that looks like a mess. I would probably wind up headbutting the center console out of frustration.

I drove one as a rental for a day. Ugh.

GM really needs to hire someone who understands ergonomics. They are making great stuff these days, but the dash/button layouts are NOT driver friendly! The touch screens suck, MyLink sucks... The center control layout is really my biggest gripe in my Volt. You get used to it after a few months, but it's more than most people should have to figure out behind the wheel.

Too Many Buttons crowded together. Its not a fucking Dialpad!!!

I like MyLink in the sonic, but it's a different layout than it is in the higher end models, which makes it way better.

MyLink has all the right features, it's just the layout that's awful. The Volt throws way too much at the touchscreen to manage. At least the Cruze has physical buttons!

Pshhhht...buttons are overrated anyways

Kinja'd!!!

There are 7 buttons on my cars center console: A/C, Recirc, Hazards, Butt warmers (x2)rear defrost, door lock

The door lock switch on the center console drives me up a fucking wall.

That's why I mentioned it's a different setup in the Sonic. It's actually very easy to use, even with no buttons. There's a homepage that takes you to everything

Kinja'd!!!

The audio page is pretty much where mine is 99% of the time, it's very simple and easy to use. I don't have Sirius (sound quality isn't very good), but one feature I liked during the trial is your favorites can come from any radio source. I used to have a page of Sirius and a page of FM, but I played with arranging it by genre, having page 1 be hits, page 2 have EDM/hip hop type stuff, page 3 was comedy, etc.

Kinja'd!!!

To go to other sources there's a drop down. iPod/bluetooth works well, iPod shows album art which is nice

The phone screen is super basic

Kinja'd!!!

And with the right phone (iPhone is the best bet), you can get Nav via BringGo, which works well, as well as Pandora and other radio stuff right on the screen

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Literally the only thing I would change is make the navigation built in standard. BringGo is fine I suppose, but it sucks to dedicate a chunk of your phone's memory to it. I actually don't have it installed right now because it takes up too much memory.

Great car otherwise, but yea, its ergonomics were seemingly put together by drunks or children.

Ooh does this have the official "ios in car" integration? That would improve things a bit.

Sort of. It has Siri Eyes free, which is great. It's certainly not a fullblown iOS in the car, but I hope it gets there soon.

Not as bad as the steering wheel of the new Buick Regal. Two rocker switches, two directional pads, and four more miscellaneous buttons all crammed at 9:00 and 3:00

The Equinox is pretty bad, too. Note the way it slopes away so you have to lean forward to adjust volume.

And where's the climate control temp adjustment?

Knob under the screen. There's three knobs, temp on the left, fan speed in the middle, vent selection on the right

I still stumble around on the door when someone needs me to unlock the door. I don't think I'll ever get it immediately
